I have an 06 Ford Five Hundred with no more warranty. The A/C Compressor is not powering on but according to 2 dealerships compressor is working fine but its not receiving signal to power on. The blower is working. I took the car to a nearby dealership and they were not able to find a solution. I went to another dealership and they adviced me that the problem was the Electronic Stability Control Module. The bad news is that its going to cost me over $650.00 to get it fixed. I researched online for the part and went to a junkyard and bought it. I installed it but still not powering on the compressor. I called the dealership and I was adviced that an NGS programming is needed to download the part to the car's computer but I'm looking around $200.00 for that. Is anyone familiar with this NGS programming?? Also a friend who works with cars adviced me to manually power on the compressor connecting it from the battery as a temporary solution but of course with fuses and a power switch that way it doesnt stay on all the time. That sounded kinda silly to me at first but now I'm starting to think about it since I live in West Texas and the heat down here is reaching up to 110 degrees and its starting to be irritating driving this car. Any suggestions???
